Strengthening the capacity of the war-affected population to protect their rights in southern Ukraine (NRC)
We are pleased to announce: the project
“Strengthening the capacity of the war-affected population to protect their rights in southern Ukraine”
is starting a new stage
The team of NGO “Center for Social Partnership “Perspektyva” with the support of the Government of Norway and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) continues working where support is most needed - in frontline, de-occupied and affected communities of southern Ukraine.
This stage is not just a continuation but a qualitative strengthening of the project. For the first time, we are launching a new area of work - expert support for communities. Within the project, four communities in southern Ukraine will receive dedicated, systematic expert support aimed at improving residents’ access to legal, administrative and compensation mechanisms. Our local governance expert will work directly with local self-government bodies and military administrations, helping to develop and improve procedures, algorithms and information materials, and supporting communities on the Register of Damage, compensation and implementing systemic change.
Another important area of the project is supporting citizens and communities in dealing with the Register of Damage for Ukraine. We carry out outreach, provide consultations and practical help with submitting claims to the Register of Damage in all categories open today, and assist in collecting and preparing the necessary documents.
At the same time, our professional team of lawyers and case managers continues its work. Consultations are provided in person, online, by phone and during mobile visits. We provide free legal aid and support on registering and recognising ownership, inheritance, compensation for damaged or destroyed housing, social and temporary housing, IDP certificates and state payments, restoring documents, labour rights, access to healthcare and education, crossing the border and evacuation. In addition, funded by NRC and the Government of Norway, people from preferential categories can have technical passports for residential properties and land plots restored or produced (if they hold ownership).
The social component complements legal support: the case manager provides information, counselling, referrals, social support, coordination of medical and social services and help in accessing social programmes.
Assistance within the project is aimed at internally displaced persons, residents of affected communities, families of the fallen, owners of damaged property, small business owners, older people, people with disabilities, families with children and other vulnerable groups.
We continue working so that every person has real access to protecting their rights, and communities have the tools for recovery and sustainable development. A new stage - new opportunities. We are here.
